hey there strangers. well i just finished my Rotation period on my Art and design foundation course and now i understand art and its patways better than ever before, which of course means i've changed my understanding of art...and what does this mean? well it means I hate any work i created before i started this course. Now i seem to be more ideas based, all the questions my work asks and functions it aspires to, not so much the technical side to art and design like i had done beforehand, this isn't an attempt to say that i have completely turned my back to technique or that anyone should, but i just would hate my work becoming vacuous and empty,
"all fur coat and no knickers".
i dont think anymore that painting with great detail, photographing with great detail, crafting with great detail or stitching to perfection makes a piece of work full of meaning, unless it's for a specific reason. So anyway please don't take this like I'm trying to say abstraction is the way forward or that anyone is doomed to an eternity of boringly empty work, it's just i feel that work without a meaning or idea is almost pointless because then truly those who are ignorant to the artworld are correct when they say
"anyone can do that"
